PARKING FOR THE JAMESTOWN NEWPORT FERRY

Departing from Jamestown at 1 East Ferry Wharf, Jamestown, R.I. 02835:

In the Village area downtown—free daytime public parking is available on Narragansett Ave., between the Fire Station and the mid-island blinking light. (# 60 – #99 Narragansett Ave.) Distance is about a 15-minute walk through Jamestown village heading east down to the 1 East Ferry Wharf departure site.

June – Sept. there is additional parking which is always available at 260 Conanicus Ave., at the Conanicut Marine Services’ Boat Yard (about 3 min. or 0.8 mile away), but you will need to first check in at 1 East Ferry Wharf to request a $10.00 one-day pass to display on your car dashboard. If you purchase a pass online, you may go directly to the Conanicut Marine parking site at 260 Conanicus Ave. There is a FREE shuttle to and from the Boat Yard to the 1 East Ferry Wharf departure site, just call the shuttle at (401) 864-2985 for a pick up.

Departures from Newport’s Perrotti Park, located at 39 America's Cup Ave., Newport, R.I. 02840:

The Gateway Visitors Center, located at 23 America’s Cup Ave., Newport, R.I. 02840, is the city’s primary public transportation hub. The Gateway Parking Lot and Garage operates from May 1st through October 31st.  The garage and parking lot accommodate 484 vehicles. Hours of operation are Monday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. Rates: $2.00 for the first half hour, $1.50 for each subsequent half hour, maximum per day:  $24.50. Tickets validated by Discover Newport receive one-half hour ($1.50) free parking.

Fort Adams State Park, located at 90 Fort Adams Drive, Newport, R.I. 02840, has ample free parking directly in front of the Fort’s main entrance. Overnight parking passes are available for purchase in the Park Visitor Center.
